Singing in the Rain

The Art to Life project required a lot of coordination in every aspect of production. All of group "say it" ran into difficulties. Pre-production went smoothly as far as determining which piece of "art" would come to life. We decided on the movie poster of "Singin in the Rain."
Production itself was a bit more difficult. We wanted to allude to some scenes from the film and since it had just rained when we shot, it was almost perfect. However, a lot of the scenes were outside on the street and our biggest problem was getting the shot when the cars cleared. A lot of the scenes we had to do a more than a few times to find the perfect take.
Post production also had a number of learning opportunities. We had to learn how to dull the colors in the video because we wanted a feel of an older film. Not only that but we really had to concentrate on a few cuts to keep consistency. For example, when Carleigh is playing in the puddle and we cut to her feet, we have to make sure she has her weight on the correct foot, etc.
If we were to do it over again, I would probably add "rain" using a hose or something along those lines to give the video a more realistic feel.
